The importance of ergonomics in the social and health care is recognized all over Europe. There is a growing awareness of the need to apply practical action in the workplace to reduce work related accidents. An increasing focus is placed on the application of ergonomic principles in view of their great potential to improve working conditions. We need the right action models of the ergonomics so that we can improve our well-being at work, reduce musculoskeletal disorders and reduce accidents happening in assisting clients. By using quality action models we can support clients´ functional capacity effectively.
In ERGOCAREBANK project we apply the safe patient handling guidelines in education and the workplace and we will place the tested ergonomic solutions easily available to the students, workers and teachers.
The attempt of project to provide training and education on delegant issues as it is the knowledge on the right action model that a caregiver has to follow in the work environment, is of extreme importance not only for the caregivers themselves but of course for the elderly as well.
