National Conference with subject: “Good practices for Ergonomy and safe handling of patients in Health and social care domains”.

Wednesday 27th of May 2015 “Frontida Zois” in cooperation with rehabilitation clinic “Dimitris and Vera Sfika” of Rio University hospital, organized at Agora Argiri chamber in Patras, a National Conference with subject: “ Good practices for Ergonomy and safe handling of patients in Health and social care domains.”

The conference was realized in the framework of the European Transfer of Innovation project called ERGOCAREBANK, in which participates Frontida along with partners from Finland (Oulainen Vocational College, Oulainen Home Care, Ergosolutions BC Oy AB, Sweden (Centre for Health and Building, KTH) and Estonia (Tartu Nursing Home, Kastergikas), concerning the application of modern and best practices in health and social care for socially vulnerable groups. During the conference took place three very interesting presentations: Mr. Theodoropoulos, social worker in Frontida Zois referred to the Ergocarebank project and additionally presented the International Conference of the ERGOCAREBANK project to be held in Kefalonia 17th and 18th of September in Lassi –Argostoli. http://www.frontidazois.gr/en/ergocarebank-conference/information.php

Mrs. Marini Katerina Occupational therapist in Rio rehabilitation clinic, made a presentation about the safe transport of patients from and to the wheelchair and from and to the rehabilitation clinic. Finally Mr. Milis Panagiotis – Physiotherapist in Rio rehabilitation clinic, focused on good practices for health professionals and social care workers that they should follow to avoid occupational injuries during their work. Furthermore he made special reference to the modern ergonomic equipment that is used nowadays in order to facilitate the work of the carers and nurses and to lessen the effort of the patients as well. The workshop was coordinated by Mrs Filtiseniou Paraskeui who she is Ergotherapist in Rio rehabilitation clinic.

We should mention that the program will close with the holding of an International European Conference in Greece in September 2015.
