The main objective of this program is the creation and implementation of ergonomic practices of guiding patients and chronically ill, regarding their mobility and transportation during their hospitalization or their stay in their familiar environment. Through these solutions, the right can be given to those people, to continue living in their home, or to be hosted elsewhere and perform their everyday tasks in a way that minimizes the risk of injuring themselves or the people who have taken on their care (health professionals, relatives etc.). These solutions will be documented scientifically by the Technology and Health School of Stockholm University both within the provision of home care and also during the stay in a hosting space (e.g. nursing home) in order to ascertain the interest of the individuals involved in the program, for the program in general, and also (to ascertain) whether the results that will be generated through the its implementation, meet the requirements and have the acceptance for implementation by all (patients, professionals, carers).
During the 2 days 7th - 8th of November, the first meeting was held within the frames of the program, in the town Oulainen in Finland, where there was the opportunity to analyze all the data of the program, to exchange experiences with each partner individually, and have a substantive discussion on the final effect that this project will have on improving the situation in the field of nursing and care of patients with serious health problems.
We should mention that the program will close with the holding of an International European Conference in Greece in September 2015.
